Digital illustration with digital, technical flats.
My constructed garments. For this look, I draped on the stand, created patterns, sourced fabric and hardware, and sewed on a Juki, industrial machine.
The following pages provide a look into my process book for this project. From my inspirations, I developed sketches and garment details that could be applied in my final look.
These collages that I made served as my main inspiration for prints and textiles. I was drawn to the busyness of the different patterns and designs. I wanted my garment to have the same effect, which is demonstrated in my fabric choices and silhouettes.
I took my previous digital collages, printed them, deconstructed them, then reinvented them phsyically on paper. From here, I analyzed shapes that could be used in garments, and continued sketching and draping.
These were the final three looks that I edited down from all my designs. For the garment that I consturcted, I chose the top from the middle illustration, and the pants from the illustration on the right. These were done digitally with Adobe Photoshop and illustrator, and placed over my personal hand-drawn croquis.
